My job for the last 5 days:

Filing.

Why I'm ready to put a bullet in my head:

Reason #1: This was actually *explained* to me - "When you're putting these in order... say you have quote #218?  #219 will go directly behind it."

Reason #2: My supervisor stood over my shoulder to make sure I was putting the dividers in the right place in the folders.

I wasn't even supposed to divide anything; just put them on top of what was already in the folders.

I kid you not.

Temping again until something permanent comes up.

I hand-fed a wild wallabee!  Well, it was kind of a tame-wild wallabee, always hanging out with all the campers in the area.  But still.  Awesome.

We're going to Thailand in May!!!!!  Finally a beach holiday after Indiana winter.

No other real news... we've been evicted from our apartment (it got sold, believe it or not... you would only believe it or not if you actually saw how tiny our apartment was) but we're just going to move to a different one down the hall.

I guess that's it for now.  I'm off to sign up for Andyland.....

Most memorable moment from this year's Oscars:

"Martin Scorsese, 0.  36 Mafia, 1." -Jon Stewart.

Not only did a song glorifying pimps win a freakin' Oscar (and Brokeback Mountain was controversial??), but it's by a group that also has a song entitled "Slob on my Knob" in their list of hits.

Crazy.

Not that I don't love me a little gangsta rap every now and then.....

News with me??  Flooding the market with job applications.  Oh the joy.  Going camping this weekend.  Don't want to die from any of the following: bushfire, spider, snake, scorpion, kangaroo, dingo.

Quick update from me:

  • I'm back in Melbourne after spending a looooong month in Indiana with my family/friends.  Christmas was nice, cleaned up in the cash department, which is good because yes, I'm still unemployed.  t.a. found it incredibly cold, but it was nice to sit around and do nothing (except shop) for a month.
  • The little nephew is SO FREAKIN' ADORABLE.  But the stubborn little guy is refusing to walk, even though he's 15 months old.
  • I've applied for residency here, so hopefully when that comes through I'll be able to finally get off my ass and get a job.
  • With residency/job comes serious consideration at buying a house with t.a.
  • With residency/job/house comes a new puppy FINALLY.  (t.a. demands it'll be a staffy, b/c our backyard won't be big enough for a siberian husky or chocolate lab... but i'm demanding that i get to name it, and i've already picked out a name: Buddy.  how cute!)
  • We were *thisclose* to getting a new car this past weekend, but t.a. and the dealer guy refuse to budge when they're only $500 away from each other on the price.  We're looking at a 2005 Ford Territory.  It's sweeeeeet.  (though I'm actually a little nervous about driving it, since it's kinda big and the lanes here are really narrow compared to lanes in the US)
  • Um, what else...?  Oh, my birthday is a national holiday here, so everyone gets the day off and has bbq's.  It'll be 40C here on Thursday, so hopefully we'll crash t.a's parents' place to take over their pool. (for all you States-ers, 37C=100F.  Yeah, think about it)
  • I have the best tan ever - mostly gained by sitting in the second row at some of the Australian Open games, where I saw Lindsey Davenport and Serena Williams (my god, she's HUGE).  I was hoping to see Tommy Haas, a German, but he wasn't playing the day I was there.  My god, he's hot.  (he played Roger Federer last night, I still haven't found out who won that)
  • My internet time expires in 2 minutes, so I have to go now.
  • Hope everyone is well!!
